Who We Are
Le Chat Savant French Tutoring was founded by Calgary award‑winning entrepreneur and fantasy author Kathleen B.
Raised in the rural Laurentians of Québec, Kathleen grew up in a fully francophone community where English existed only in Saturday‑morning cartoons and on the backs of cereal boxes. She later strengthened her English by spending a summer working in Edmonton during university, eventually returning to Alberta a few years later to start a family and build a successful business in the pet‑care industry.
In 2025, after seeing firsthand the gaps in French education and the growing need for strong bilingual skills—even outside Québec—she shifted her focus to teaching. Today, she brings her passion for language, culture, and clear communication to students in Calgary and all over the world, helping them discover the confidence and opportunities that come with learning real, authentic French.
